Supporting Stoke

Letting In The Light, Stoke

Supporting Stoke’s very own Wonder Women.

Letting in The Light were awarded £47,345 by People’s Health Trust, using money raised by Health Lottery West Midlands.

This new two-year project ‘Wonder Women’ aims to open a women’s creative well-being hub, which will be based in a shop within the town centre of Stoke. The hub will offer participatory opportunities including creative arts, digital media, friendship and access to information.

Participants are all women aged over 16 from diverse communities. The project aims to address issues related to social and emotional isolation, as well as issues or risk of abuse.

Chris Lunn, The Health Lottery in the West Midlands spokesperson said: “The funds raised through Health Lottery in the West Midlands are changing and improving lives. It was clear that supporting Letting in the Light would have great benefit to the community. To date, over £100 million has been raised through The Health Lottery for good causes across Great Britain, of which £7.3 million has been raised for the West Midlands. We hope to make even more for good causes when Health Lottery West Midlands opens in February 2019.”

The Health Lottery West Midlands will benefit from all Health Lottery tickets sold for draws being held between 1 and 28 February 2019. Tickets can be purchased in advance for these draws online at www.healthlottery.co.uk or from more than 32,000 local retailers including The Post Office, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons and WH Smith.
